Received phone calls today from two black actors interested in filling the roles we were unable to cast.  Whew. This will put us back to top speed.

Auditions were last weekend. All went reasonably well. One woman dropped out before the first actual rehearsal - taken to the hospital, she says, with severe stomach problems. We have yet to cast the two black male roles. Looking around. Thursday we rehearsed in the theatre with no heat. Furnace problems. The temperature was 42 degrees. My hands were shaking so badly I couldn't read my blocking notes on the script. Other than that, everything is going well. Business as usual.

In California’s Salinas Valley of the 1930s, world-wise and world-weary George fuels the dreams of man-child Lennie to, “get their own little place.” The itinerant farm worker George entertains his own thoughts of life without his slow-witted friend. Lennie’s innocent penchant for trouble portends both men’s fates as they take work-for-hire on a farm.

Little Theatre off Broadway will hold auditions for the show at 7 p.m. on Sunday June 19 and Monday June 20 at the theater, 3981 Broadway in Grove City. The show calls for 9 adult men between 20 and 70 years old, and one adult woman 20 – 40. Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

The Director is looking for a well-behaved medium sized or larger dog for the production. The dog would be expected to be able to lie down and stay on stage for awhile and allow him/herself to be led on and off stage a couple of times. Please contact the Stage Manager, CJ Jamison, to set up a time for your doggy audition.

Subject: Inherit The Wind Production

I attended my first play at LTOB last evening. I am writing this today because of my experience.

It was, without a doubt, one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had in quite a long while. I have seen plays and musicals downtown, and even in Las Vegas, but your company's production of Inherit The Wind just stopped me in my tracks! It was brilliant. The acting was superb, especially the gentleman who played Mr. Drummond (forgive me, I left my program at the theater by accident). He was exceptional!!!

His counterparts were good as well, but he actually put me there with him in the courtroom. He was so into his character, that he made him seem so natural.

I guess what I am saying is, I was surprised. The set was really very good. For such a small venue, the set director’s use of space was simply great.

I will be attending future plays, but believe me, the bar has been set very, very high.

Thank you for a very enjoyable, wonderful experience.
